Help keep your pet calm in stressful situations or different environments with Zylkene Nutritional Supplement for Cats and Dogs.

If you have noticed a change in behaviour in your pet due to a different environment or stressful situation, Zylkene Nutritional Supplement for Cats and Dogs helps relieve your pet from anxiety and stress. Formulated with casein, a protein found in milk known to encourage relaxation in newborns when breastfeeding, this pet supplement is effective and can be used before certain events, such as a big move or travelling for the first time.

Palatable and easy to administer, these capsules are filled with powder that you can mix into your pet’s food, treats or water/liquids or simply give the capsule to your pet by itself. It’s recommended that you give a capsule 1-2 days (in some cases, 5-7 days) before an event that may cause your pet to feel anxious for short term use. Safe to ingest daily.

Has your pet been showing signs of distress?
Pets can show signs of distress and unease even in situations that aren’t as uncomfortable as you may think. Our furry friends need a consistent, predictable routine to feel safe and secure. Some of the common signs that your cat or dog is on edge in a new environment include:

  • Being more aggressive toward other pets or humans despite being a friendly, calm pet;
  • Changes in habits and other usual behaviour;
  • Excessive licking or biting their paws;
  • Destroying furniture and not using the bathroom outside/in the litter box like they usually do;
  • Barking, meowing or generally vocalising more often;
  • Hiding or restlessness (e.g., pacing)

Note: Always consult your veterinarian for professional medical advice regarding your pet’s mental, physical, and emotional health and well- being.

Examples of High-Stress Situations and Environments that May Make Your Pet Uneasy
There are common situations that can make your cat or dog start changing their behaviour and habits. It’s important to take note of these situations and consider if your pet will show signs of distress. Zylkene assists with keeping your pet relaxed during these times, and some examples of anxiety-inducing circumstances include:

  • Fireworks, thunder or other extremely loud noises: Your pet can panic when they’re around loud noises, such as fireworks, and this can lead to anxiety-driven or even aggressive behaviour, which can jeopardise your pet’s safety. Barking too loudly, hiding or cowering, and restlessness are common signs of stress.
  • Moving: Moving location is a chaotic process, and your pet can get caught up in it. Set aside a room or fenced/caged area for them to stay in while you finish the move. Allow them to explore once the moving has been completed.
  • New pet: A new addition to your furry family may not be a positive experience. Try to keep your pets’ toys and other items separate, but don’t hesitate to get your pets familiar with each other by using their scents (which most likely rubbed off on their toys, etc.,). Use separate rooms, feeding bowls, etc., to make the change easier on your pets.
  • Being at home alone: Pets get used to human contact and attention, but separation anxiety can settle in when you’re away from home for a period of time.
  • New baby in the family: You may have seen endearing videos of cats or dogs being protective or loving toward a new baby in the family, but keep in mind that this can cause your pet to be uneasy. Routines will change, and your pet may not get the same attention they once did. It’s important to get your pet familiar with the new family member.
  • Travelling & Holidays: Road trips and flights can be tough on a pet, so comfort and safety are of utmost importance when travelling. Make sure that the carrier you use isn’t too small for your pet and they have enough ventilation, food, and water. If you’re travelling by car, be sure to keep your pet in a pet car seat or away from the front so that you and your pet can have a safer car ride.
  • Kennels/cattery: In some emergency cases, you may not be able to care for your pet temporarily and have to use a kennel or cattery. Research the ones in your area thoroughly and make sure the kennel or cattery is licensed and insured. If your cat or dog has special needs, ask the facility if they can accommodate and take care of your pet.

I have a very anxious cat and fed this to her several days in advance. She had a vet appointment and behaved so well and seemed calm, which is rare for her. I believe this supplement helped calm her nerves and I really seen a difference in her behaviour, as I have tried many calming supplements. As long as you follow the instructions, it should work out, as it worked well for my nervous cat.

Ben is a rescue dog and the shelter suggested to get this for him as he gets really anxious at night. Works great as a natural alternative
